The Building Canebière was built by Fernand Pouillon (1950-1952)
who lived and built in Algeria, in Algiers but also in Ghardaïa. This building
also housed Pouillon's Marseilles agency. Jan Kopp took the place
of the building's guard to observe the comings and goings and to draw.
The series “La guerite de Pouillon (sur la route de Ghardaïa)” * were conceived for the first edition of the journal “ TRAVERSER – Marseille / Alger / Ghardaïa, a publication by the collectif Suspended spaces
