Un grand assemblage
Exhibition “Sous le silence”Centre d’art contemporain, Villa du Parc, Annemasse, 2025

“On the first floor, a seemingly chaotic environment invades the art center like a hurricane, bringing together all kinds of objects carefully collected during moments of encounter and sharing with local residents. Invited to bring materials in the form of rods of all shapes and sizes from closets, garages, attics and gardens, participants give them new life by arranging them together in collective workshops, like great manifestations of sensibility where everyone expresses themselves in a shared form. Young and old, individually, as a family or in a group, prefigured and built with the artist in the garden of the Maison Butor in Lucinges, then in the Villa du Parc, a large generative sculpture that unfolds in three rooms. Bound together by bindings, glue dots and plaster ointments, the elements support one another. For the artist, it's a question of “doing, doing with, letting do”, in moments of pleasure and joy when magic happens. The work is attached to the wall, encabanated, scribbled on and vegetalized in turn. Carried along by the collective energy, it resonates with the vital sound of the hundreds of hands that shaped it. From agglomerated and compact, “le grand assemblage” gradually evolves into a light, airy form, where the white of the cuttings spreads.”
