Les balançoires, 2011 |
HD video, animation, B&W, 4 min Production : Abbaye de Maubuisson / Conseil départemental du Val-d'Oise With the kind participation of the Ateliers arrosés; young people from the OpEJ children's home in Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône; students in the second year of secondary school, cinema option, from the Lycée de l'Hautil; and trainees from the workshop organized at Abbaye de Maubuisson in partnership with Écrans VO, the "picture by picture" festival. The starting point of this animated film is a scene of young children swinging. It was filmed by the artist in the garden of the Children's Home next to Maubuisson Abbey. From this scene, a work of copying and simplifying the elements that make up the image was carried out during a drawing workshop with inhabitants of the Val-d'Oise. This sharing of the practice of drawing responds to the formal research that the artist has pursued for this film. Like the Arab telephone, the copying of the basic model by several hands produced its transformation and led to the abstraction of the forms that characterize the meeting point of the two children in the film and that regain their initial appearance at the culmination of their distance. > See the film La balançoire in the interview with L'atelier A (partnership Adagp and ARTE Creative), on the occasion of the exhibition La Courbe de la ritournelle, Abbaye de Maubuisson, site of contemporary art of the Conseil départemental du Val-d'Oise, Saint-Ouen-l'Aumône, 2011 (rdv at minute 5'40) |
