Barges and container holders modeled in soybean puree. Variable dimensions. Produced for the installation of the collective Suspended spaces, Mapping Fordlândia Presented at Les Tanneries, Amilly, exhibition Épochè (ici), avril-mai 2022 ; Tabakalera, San Sebastian (Spanish Basque Country), exhibition On Fail[l]ed Tales and Ta[y]lors, November 2019-February 2020. Exhibited at collectif show Epoqué (ici), curated by Sally Bonn within the installation “mapping Fordlandia”, by collectif suspended spaces The Amazonian rivers are regularly crisscrossed by huge barges that transport tons of soybeans from the plantations resulting from massive deforestation in the south to the Amazon River and the ocean in the north. The soybeans are then sent to China and Europe to feed cattle or to produce "bio-fuel". |
